An example of the universal design in engineering is an elevator. This design allows us to climb the stairs instead of the elevator. It saves more time in our life. Also, disabled people can take the elevator to the floor they want to go to. In many elevators, there are also special buttons for disabled people. This means that if you are in a wheelchair, you can press the buttons easily. And each button is engraved with a Braille message. There is a similar example of the elevator is the translation tools. When we study a second language and have an unknown word, we could use the translation tool to translate it. We can just look up words on our phones instead of buying a dictionary. In the age of technology, there are more and more electronics. You may be without a dictionary, but you certainly won’t be without an electronic device. Translation tools can translate not only words but also translate the long sentences. When we learn the language, we often come across long sentences, and sometimes you know every word but still don’t understand the meaning of the sentence. This is where we can use the translation tool. Although the translation tool does not translate very accurately, it can help you understand more.
The interactive learning resource must be applied to different types of students. For example, some students need a step-by-step guide. We should just prepare lots of practice questions. Some students are inquiry-based learners, so we should hand over some basics and then prepare some practice that reinforces the difficulty. I agree with Anna’s opinion. she said the solution to reduce the barriers is to open the library or lab. Sometimes did homework on my laptop is a little bit difficult. Also, I’m so sad I can’t print because I don’ t have a printer in my home. The library is my only way to print.
